8171 Web Portal Check Online by CNIC – Updated 2026

To check your BISP status in 2026, open the official portal at 8171.bisp.gov.pk, enter your 13-digit CNIC without dashes, type the image code, and press submit. Your eligibility and payment status appear on screen in a few seconds. You can also send your CNIC number in an SMS to 8171 from any network. Both methods are completely free.

That is the whole process. The rest of this guide explains what your result actually means, what to do when the portal shows an error, and how to avoid the fake “8171” websites that have multiplied this year.

8171 web portal check online by cnic

The number 8171 is the official identity of the Benazir Income Support Programme’s public verification system. It exists in two forms:

  • The SMS shortcode 8171 – works on Jazz, Zong, Ufone and Telenor, free of charge.
  • The web portal 8171.bisp.gov.pk – the online version of the same database.

Both connect to the same records: your NSER survey data, your NADRA CNIC verification, and your payment history. Whichever method you use, the answer will be identical, because there is only one database behind them.

The portal exists so that you never have to pay an agent to “check your name.” No one has special access to this system. A shopkeeper charging you Rs 50 to check your CNIC is reading the exact same screen you can open yourself.

  1. Open the official portal. Type 8171.bisp.gov.pk directly into your browser. Do not click links from WhatsApp forwards.
  2. Enter your CNIC. Use all 13 digits with no dashes. Example format: 3520212345671.
  3. Enter the captcha code. This is the distorted image code shown on screen. It stops automated bots from overloading the system.
  4. Click the submit button.
  5. Read your result. The screen will show your eligibility status and, if a payment is pending, the amount and where to collect it.

If the page does not load: the portal receives extremely heavy traffic in the first week after every installment is announced. Try again early morning or late at night. The site is not down permanently — it is simply congested.

For anyone without internet access, the SMS route works on any basic phone:

  1. Open your messages and start a new SMS.
  2. Type only your 13-digit CNIC number, no dashes and no extra words.
  3. Send it to 8171.
  4. Wait for the reply. During peak periods this can take several hours.

The message costs nothing. If any service asks you to send a paid SMS to a different code to “check BISP,” it is a scam.

The Benazir Kafalat quarterly installment was raised from Rs 13,500 to Rs 14,500 in March 2026. Households with school-going children enrolled in Taleemi Wazaif receive an additional education stipend on top of the Kafalat amount, which varies according to the number and gender of enrolled children.
Because amounts change with each policy revision, always treat the figure shown on your own portal result as the correct one. Any blog promising a specific new amount before BISP announces it is guessing.

Eligibility is decided by the Poverty Means Test score generated from your NSER survey, not by any application form. In broad terms, a household qualifies when:

  • The applicant is a woman with a valid, unexpired CNIC
  • The household has completed the NSER dynamic survey
  • The PMT score falls below the programme cut-off
  • Neither the applicant nor her spouse holds a government job
  • The household does not own significant land, vehicles or foreign travel history

Applications are not accepted online. Anyone offering to “get you approved” for a fee is defrauding you.

This is the most important section of this guide. Search results for “8171 check online” are flooded with imitation portals. Some simply harvest CNIC numbers; others ask for money.

Signs of a fake portal:

  • The address is anything other than a .gov.pk domain
  • It asks for your mobile wallet PIN, OTP or account password
  • It requests a “processing fee” or “registration charge”
  • It contacts you on WhatsApp claiming to be BISP
  • It promises approval or guarantees a payment amount

The rules that never change: BISP never charges any fee. BISP never asks for your PIN or OTP. BISP does not conduct business over WhatsApp. The only official portal is on the bisp.gov.pk domain.

To report fraud or an illegal deduction, call the BISP helpline at 0800-26477.
